Gabriel Clermont is a NYC-based filmmaker who has spent the majority of his career in China as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor on documentary and commercial projects for international and local brands including Red Bull, BYD比亚迪, Adidas, Audi, LanCaiWang懒财网, the United Nations, and Under Armour among many others.

From 2018 until 2020, Gabriel worked as the ITV News Asia-bureau cameraman and editor. In this role, he travelled the Asia-Pacific region filming and editing broadcast news packages on everything from the 2018 Indian presidential elections, the North Korean 70th Anniversary celebration, climate change related brushfires in Australia, and the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in Wuhan, China.

Recently, based back in New York City, he’s worked as a freelance director and editor on commercial and documentary projects for clients including The Brooklyn Public Library’s 2021 Fund Raising Gala, American Express, Marriott, and Sony.

Along with his commercial work, Gabriel has two short films in post-production, and is pursuing an MFA in Directing from SUNY Stony Brook’s MFA in Film program in collaboration with Killer Films, a NYC-based program dedicated to independent filmmaking.
